Some Red blends are bolder than others but are generally smooth and packed with flavour. Most red blends have great balance and a firm tannin structure that makes food pairing easy and easy to drink.
Each year fruit for Bin 138 is sourced from old Barossa Valley vines (some more than 100 years old) and then matured for 12 to 15 months in seasoned oak hogsheads to allow the different varietals to shine through. Bin 138 is defined by its distinctive plum, raspberry pastille and underlying spicy notes.
The stunning vintage has produced a wine with beautiful balance delivering bright red berries, black olive, chocolate-covered cherry and cedar. The combination of the four varieties melds velvety tannins to complete a wine of elegance and seduction. Fleshy and forward, the acidity is mouthwatering suggesting the wine will only get better over the next decade.
This wine displays savoury spice and dark cherry which flows on the palate, complemented with medium tannin finish. This wine was made to be enjoyed with antipasto, pizza, pasta and game.
